Frequently asked questions
General answers to help you get oriented. The details of each case are confirmed in the terms of the plan or policy.
Before you buy
How much does insurance cost?
It depends on the type of insurance, the insurer, the plan, your location, your age and other factors. That's why we don't publish prices: we review the available options and their costs with you. The final price is confirmed by the insurer.
Does it cost anything to talk with you?
Requesting a consultation is free and doesn't commit you to buy. We explain your options so you can decide calmly.
What should I have on hand for the consultation?
To start, just tell us what you need, who would be covered and your ZIP code. If you decide to apply, the insurer may ask for a valid ID and other information; we'll never ask for sensitive information through the website form.
How do I request a quote?
Book a consultation or call us. An advisor will ask a few questions and review the available options with you. Requesting a quote doesn't guarantee coverage or price.
How soon will you get back to me?
We get back to you as soon as possible after receiving your request, to agree on a day and time for the consultation.
Health insurance
What is Obamacare, and can you help me with it?
Obamacare is what people call the health plans you sign up for through the government's official site, such as HealthCare.gov. We help you compare the plans available in your state and enroll step by step. Depending on your income and how many people live with you, you may be able to pay less each month. We review it together before you decide.
When can I enroll in health insurance?
Many plans have an open enrollment period once a year. Outside it, you may qualify for special enrollment after certain life changes, such as moving, losing other coverage, getting married or having a baby. Dates vary by plan type and year; we confirm them with you.
What do premium, deductible and copay mean?
The premium is what you pay to have the insurance, usually every month. The deductible is what you pay for certain services before the plan starts sharing the cost. A copay is a fixed amount for a service, like a doctor visit. Each plan sets its own amounts.
How do I check if my doctor or hospital is in network?
Each insurer publishes a provider directory for each plan. We can help you look it up, but we also recommend confirming directly with the doctor's office or hospital, since networks can change.
What does each type of policy cover?
Each policy sets its own coverage, limits, exclusions and waiting periods. We explain the differences and review the plan documents with you before any decision.
Supplemental and life
How is supplemental insurance different from health insurance?
Accident and hospital indemnity insurance can pay set benefits for certain covered events. They complement health insurance; they don't replace it.
What's the difference between term and permanent life insurance?
Term life protects you for a set period. Permanent life aims to protect you for life and may have additional features depending on the policy type. Approval and premium depend on the insurer's evaluation.
What are IUL and annuities?
They are products related to protection and retirement, with their own conditions, fees and limits. They aren't risk-free investments. We can share general information and review with you whether one fits your goals.
After you buy
Can you help with changes or renewals?
Yes. Reach out to review changes in your situation or your policy renewal, and we will walk you through the available options.
What should I do if I need to use my insurance?
Check your card and policy documents, and contact the insurer or your provider. You can also reach out to us: we can guide you through the steps, although the claim itself is handled by the insurer.
Who do I talk to after I buy?
The same advisor who helped you, Canio or Airam, in your language.
